About me

Delilah Brien is a character-driven musical theatre performer with a folk, jazz, and rock sound with a strong mezzo-soprano belt. Her energy lives at the intersection of offbeat charm and emotional authenticity, often portraying witty, emotionally layered characters. With a foundation in dance and improvisation, her performances are energetic and expressive. "What do you get when you combine The Little Mermaid's Aerial and Spring Awakening's Moritz Steifel?"

She performed in four plays musicals a year through school while dancing on the Varsity Dance Team and performing weekly with the improv troupe. Wanting MORE theater in her life- she quickly joined a New York City based theatre company, where she trained with working actors and began to envision her future as a professional performer. Performing in the city, training with a pre-professional program, and taking regular Broadway Dance Center classes fueled her determination.

She will graduate in December of 2026 with a degree in Theatre from the University of Southern California's School of Dramatic Arts with a minor in Dance from the Gloria Kaufman School of DanceAs a citizen of the U.S., U.K., and Germany, she plans to perform in Los Angeles, New York, London, and beyond.  â€‹

Service/ Advocacy

Alongside her artistic journey, Delilah has been an advocate for Type 1 Diabetes since her diagnosis at the age of five. This experience shaped- not only her unwavering discipline- but her relationship with visibility, performance and authenticity. From interviews on CBS at the age of 8, to speaking to a crowd of 700 at the JDRF Promise Ball at age 16, advocacy work has enriched her life in many ways. "Team Delilah" was created by the Brien family in 2007, and has since raised $500,000 dollars through the annual charity fundraising walk in NYC. Delilah's advocacy work has inspired her to tell truthful stories as an actor. Being a member of the JDRF Youth Council brought her from the White House to the homes of dozens of newly diagnosed kids with the goal of bringing encouragement, hope, and connection.

This inspired her to have a regular practice of serving others. She mentored young adults through Indivisible Arts's art program centered around mindfulness practices for over 4 years. And in the summer, Delilah counsels T1D kids at Camp Conrad Chinook, where she earned her "Most Devoted Counselor Award" summer 2023. Teaching a music class at Friendship Foundation (a non-profit for disabled young adults and adults) has been the highlight of this season of her life.

She proudly says, "I am an individual that is purposeful and about time and goals. I credit my Type One Diabetes to the quality that defines who I am- determination."
